Over the years, many of our customers have come to appreciate our service department and maintenance programs. The goal of this department is simple – to consistently bring real clarity to every roof we visit.

We do not automatically resort to re-roofing recommendations for every problem situation we come across. Wherever possible, we propose other options that can add years to an existing roof system and save the building owners considerable costs.

Much of the work we do for existing roof systems includes:

• Leak repair
• Preventive maintenance programs
• Installing mechanical equipment

The wide success of our service division has led us to help establish a national network of premium roofing contractors, called RoofConnect. This resource provides a consistent level of timely, top-quality service and maintenance work for national accounts.Our maintenance and repair division is always on-call – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Recent Service Projects

First Baptist Church of Brattleboro

The Melanson Company Service Department was brought on by the First Baptist Church of Brattleboro VT to complete roof repairs to their building originally constructed in 1840. As part of an overall maintenance and improvement plan the work included extensive slate repair, copper hip and ridge replacement and single ply flat roofing. Aside from the requisite roofing skills needed to complete the work this crowded downtown work environment demanded a high level of attention to public safety.

 

Commercial Skylight Installation

Providing a quality day lighting solution for the client, Melanson Service recently installed two additional skylights in this busy retail environment. The skylight curbs were pre-flashed off site to maximize the efficiency of this installation completed during store hours. OSHA compliant safety procedures protected both the workers and store patrons. The newly installed sky lights meet the day lighting needs of the client and are fall protection rated.

 

Residential PVC Project

In addition to repairs, our Service crews are often called upon to complete small detailed re-roofing projects such as this one. The project included the use of fully adhered felt back Sarnafil PVC membrane. The flexibility of a heat welded system and attention to detail combined to provide a quality roofing solution to this challenging area.

 

Bad Deck and Cricket Repair

This Service project consisted of removal and replacement of shingles and deteriorated sheathing in one area of an existing roof while leaving the remainder in tact. The asphalt shingle work was carefully removed, rotten sheathing replaced and PVC membrane cricket installed. New shingle work was used to tie the existing materials into the new cricket work. Rather than remove and replace a whole roof area this application addresses a specific problem and helps to extend the service life of the surrounding shingle roof area.
