Keene State College TDS Center Recognized Among Inaugural RoofPoint™ Registered Projects

The Melanson Company, Inc. is proud to announce that its Keene State College TDS Center roofing project has been recognized among the first RoofPoint™ Registered Projects.  The Melanson Company, Inc. was among the 22 organizations that submitted nearly 100 projects during the RoofPoint pilot program.  The company was also recognized by the Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing for its support of RoofPoint and contributions toward sustainable roofing.

RoofPoint™ is a voluntary, consensus-based green rating system developed by the Center to provide a means for roofing contractors, building owners and designers to select roof systems based on long-term energy and environmental benefits.  RoofPoint Registered Projects demonstrate roofing excellence in several key categories, including energy, materials, water, life cycle and durability management.

“RoofPoint Registered Projects represent the unique contribution the roofing industry is making to sustainable construction and showcase the critical role roofs play in mitigating the impact buildings have on our environment,” said Center President Craig Silvertooth.

The Melanson Company, Inc. worked directly with Engelberth Construction, Inc. as the roofing contractor for the new energy-efficient classroom and lab building on Winchester Street in Keene, NH.  The newly constructed Technology, Design and Safety building will house the safety studies, architecture and sustainable product design and innovation programs at Keene State College.

The inaugural class of RoofPoint Registered Projects includes roofs from 27 states, the District of Columbia, Canada and Mexico.  A complete list of RoofPoint projects can be found in the project database available at www.RoofPoint.org.

The Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing is a non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C., whose mission is to promote the development and use of environmentally responsible, high performance roof systems and technologies.  For more information on the Center, visit www.RoofPoint.org.  For additional information on the RoofPoint program, visit www.RoofPoint.org.
